You will need to activate the Distinctive Ring service from the phone company to use the Voice Mail service.

How do I program ComSwitch?

1. Pick up the phone. 2. Press (#)(*) keys. 3. Enter desired changes. 4. When you hear 3 beeps, press the (*) key to exit programming.

Where do I connect a combination phone/answering machine?

To the PHONE or ANS.M. / TAD port.

Where do I connect a fax/modem?
A:

ComSwitch 5500 -- To the FAX/MODEM port.

ComSwitch 7500/3.0 -- To the FAX port. If you have a stand-alone fax and fax/modem, the device you want to receive faxes connects to the FAX port, the other device connects to the MODEM port.

How do I receive modem calls?

ComSwitch 5500 -- After the phone number in the auto-dialer in the sending computer, you will place an access code i.e., (,#11,#11,#11)

How can I get all my phones to ring?

You must install ComSwitch as the first device on the incoming line, or place it in the Semi-Automatic mode.

How do I connect ComSwitch to a multi-line phone system?
A:
You must install ComSwitch before the control box (KSU or PBX) on the last line of rollover.

Why can't I use the phone on my fax to answer calls?
A:
Incoming voice calls are transferred to the PHONE and ANS.M. / TAD ports. The ComSwitch protects voice calls from fax interruption, therefore the fax phone cannot access the line during a voice call.
Q:
Why do fax calls go to my telephones?
A:
The ComSwitch product line listens for fax calling (CNG) tones. They require this tone to transfer calls to the fax machine. The caller must press their fax machine start button after dialing your phone number for their fax to produce the CNG tone.
